Finding Your Flow
A wellbeing group for people caring for a loved one with dementia
When you're caring for someone with dementia, it's easy to spend so much time looking after them that you forget about yourself.
You may be feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, isolated, or simply longing for some time to breathe.
Finding Your Flow is a small, supportive group designed to help you reconnect with yourself, reduce stress, and connect with others who truly understand the dementia caring journey.
Because caring for yourself matters too.
What Makes Finding Your Flow Different?
This isn't a counselling group, an education session or an exercise class.
Finding Your Flow combines:
✓ Gentle movement
✓ Practical wellbeing tools
✓ Education and discussion
✓ Time for reflection
✓ Connection with other carers
✓ A supportive and welcoming environment
Together we'll explore ways to care for yourself while continuing to care for someone you love.
What Will We Cover?
Each week we will discuss a topic which will be chosen with the needs of the group in mind and may include:
• Managing stress and overwhelm
• Self-care without guilt
• Building resilience
• Understanding dementia
• Maintaining your own health and wellbeing
• Staying connected to what matters most
• Finding moments of joy and meaning

About Gill
As a former Community Educator with Alzheimer's Taranaki, and through supporting my own mum on her dementia journey, I've seen how easy it is for carers to put themselves last. Finding Your Flow was created to give carers a place to focus on their own wellbeing, even if only for an hour a week.
